I know Spring has officially been here for a few weeks but it's getting to be very apparent in the bird Kingdom.
A couple days ago I ventured out to Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve and found this Anna's Hummingbird nest. The two two chicks are about ready to fledge within the next few days if they haven't already.
It takes about three weeks for the eggs to hatch. While the chicks are in the nest the mother will feed on nectar and insects and then regurgitate the mixture into the chicks mouth (as pictured below). It takes about three weeks for the chicks to fledge (leave the nest).
