A brief explanation of Copyright Laws
First off if you are unaware of copyright laws let me begin by briefly explaining how they work. Copyright laws are put in place to protect the artist from basically theft. The most basic interpretation that I can think of is that when a person takes a photograph the second the image is created the photograph becomes the property of the owner (the photographer) and when they publish that photograph via the web (or any other media) it is protected by law. That means that no one can re-publish or use it in any way without permission from the owner.
So to break it down with how it applies to me and my work - any of my images on display on any website that I have posted to may not be duplicated and/or used for any reason without my permission. For any usage I require that you send me an inquiry about the image you would like to use. For details read below...
Usage of my work
Most of my work is available for purchase either through prints or licensing. For galleries of my work you can visit my website or Flickr.
To purchase prints please send me an email with a description of the image and what size you would like.
For digital image usage (stock) please send me an email with as much detailed information as you can provide so I can give you an accurate quote. Please include at the very minimum: a description of the image, precisely what the image would be used for, the place the image would be used, the size of the image required and the length of time for which it will be used. If it is a publication please also include the distribution numbers and where the image would be used i.e. cover, full page, half page etc.
Thanks for reading!
